Projekt Nubero, Hurdy Gurdy Universe and the E-ALTO

In October 2023, Ruben Monteiro approached me. A gifted musician from the band Albaluna and solo artist from Portugal with a very special wish.

An electric hurdy-gurdy that defies the weather in order to be able to play stage performances all over the world.
I, who had previously only made acoustic models, was faced with a completely new challenge.
After a few video conferences, we came to an agreement and so the project of the E- Alto was born.

At the same time, Ruben began writing a book about the history and development of the hurdy-gurdy and called it

Hurdy Gurdy Universe

Many well-known players and hurdy-gurdy makers were able to become part of a project. So did me and the E-ALTO.

In addition, he also started working on his solo album NUBERO, which was dedicated exclusively to the hurdy-gurdy and incorporated new playing techniques with the E-Alto and was released on October 1st.
